Did you know that Traditional Chinese Medicine provides support for women and men struggling with infertility? Acupuncture helps fertility by addressing problems that interfere with self-regulating functions in the body. If your hormones are out of balance, or your body is under stress, TCM and Acupuncture can help your body relax and become baby central!
Risks?
There are minimal risks in using Acupuncture for fertility treatment. Placement of needles in incorrect points can result in miscarriage. However, this is easily preventable when receiving treatment from a licensed provider! Both Natasha and Whitney have experience in treating fertility in patients.
What if I’m already doing Western fertility treatments?
Actually, Acupuncture is known to increase the rate of success when combined with Western medical treatments. Studies show Acupuncture treatment before and after In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) increases the chance of success. Talk with your provider and see if Acupuncture is a good fit for you.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
TCM and Acupuncture treat stress which often interferes with both men’s and women’s reproductive abilities. In women it interferes with movement and implantation of a fertilized egg. In men, stress alters sperm counts, motility, and may cause impotence. By calming the mind and body and providing support for anxiety, your body becomes more regulated and able to make a baby!
The goal of TCM is to create an internal environment where blood and energy flow smoothly through your reproductive organs. Acupuncture is one of the ways you can get energy flowing. The foods you eat can also affect your chances of conceiving. Lean towards foods that warm the body when trying to get pregnant!
These include: bone broth, beets, and cooked leafy greens for women to help warm the uterus.
For men, eat foods that support kidney energy such as oysters and salmon. Men should also steer towards leafy greens for fertility support!
Happy baby making!
