Did you know that insurance plans may cover acupuncture? Many patients do not realize that their insurance benefits may cover acupuncture services. So check if you have benefits with us. If you have them, use them! Or you might lose them!

How Can I Check for Acupuncture Benefits?

Insurance can seem complicated but we do our best to help you navigate through the process. Some companies only cover Acupuncture for certain conditions, others may require authorizations or referrals from your primary care provider.

We can check your specific insurance company and plan benefits for Acupuncture. At Whitney Green Acupuncture, we accept health insurance for companies such as: Aetna, Cigna, CHP, Kaiser, Pacific Source, Providence, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. We can also bill out-of-network for Moda and some other insurance companies, or provide you with the documentation you need to submit billing statements to your insurance company.

To check insurance benefits we need the following:

• Patient Name
• Patient Date of birth
• Health Record or Member ID Number
• Group Number (If available)

What about HSA, FSA, or Other Forms of Coverage?

Some insurance companies use Health savings or Flex spending accounts. Many of our patients use them to cover the cost of their copays, coinsurance, or any out of pocket expenses. Also, our staff can provide you with account ledgers and any other medical information your insurance company might need. In addition to billing private insurance, we also bill motor vehicle insurance and worker’s compensation insurance for any accidents that may happen.

If your insurance does not cover acupuncture, don’t fret! We offer a time-of-service discount and packages are available for patients who are not billing insurance or whose current plans do not cover Acupuncture services.

Be Sure to Take Advantage of Your Benefits Before 2020 Ends!

Many plans provide better coverage after you’ve met your deductible. However, when the year ends, many insurance plans reset and deductibles have to be met again for the following year before the real benefits kick in. Also, your plan might have a set amount of visits per year and it’s possible to have quite a few visits remaining.
