Chiropractic Adjustments (or manipulation) of the joint is a great way to get relief from the aches and pain you might experience. Chiropractors work directly with the facet joint of the spine to create the adjustment, or the popping sound. The popping sound is the movement of gas bubbles (CO2) within the synovial fluid within the joint. Synovial fluid are found in the joints of the body (except for the suture of the skull and the anterior ribs), thus allowing us to experience pops in different joint of the body. Once the synovial fluid are back to their ideal place, we experience relief that lasts for days, weeks, and sometimes months.
Chiropractic adjustment are a great alternative way to provide relief from acute injuries such as car accidents or work injuries, to aches and pain that you might experience after a round of golf or mowing the lawn.

Laura is in her 15th year of practicing acupuncture. She’s a graduate of OCOM with an MSOM and an NCCAOM board certified Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbologist. She completed her undergraduate degree from Ivy League school, University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Fine Arts and Urban Studies with an Anthropology minor.

She has an adaptive approach to acupuncture. Her Sports Medicine Acupuncture training with Matt Callison and her super anatomy heavy yoga training with Julie Gudmestad have enriched her orthopedic assessment and pain treatment skills. It’s not all orthopedics though. Laura treats the whole person and is adept at working with emotional pain and myriad internal conditions including women’s and men’s health, digestive concerns, sleep, immune imbalances, neurological concerns and more.

She integrates various acupuncture styles depending on what works for the patient including foundational Traditional Chinese Medicine, gentle Japanese Meridian Therapy, spirit focused Five Element and all the amazing modalities that go with these: cupping, moxibustion, gua sha and Japanese bodywork (Zen Shiatsu and So Tai). One of the reasons Laura’s treatments feel so amazing is because she has a rich practice and training in various kinds of energy medicine including Qi Gong, Yoga and Andean spiritual medicine. She is also a big fan of essential oils and integrates Aroma Point Therapy (applying essential oils to acupoints) into most of her sessions.

Outside of the clinic, Laura teaches Yoga, One Thousand Hands Buddha Qi Gong and Self Care classes. She is a lifelong learner and teacher. Currently she is studying and planning to certify to teach more qi gong forms with the Ling Gui School. Her travel bucket list is to visit the Peruvian Andes and study in person with her teacher, Puma Freddy Quispe Singona.

When not at the clinic, Laura is hanging out with her kids, husband, dog Bella and friends, traveling, dancing, climbing, hiking, skiing and eating delicious food her husband makes.
